As you are probably aware the ‘Chosen One’ David Moyes has been sacked by Manchester United after just 10 months in charge. This came as quite a shock to me because I thought that Moyes would’ve been given the summer transfer window to have a total clear out at the club so he could bring his own players in and start to rebuild the squad. However I totally understand why he was sacked. This season has been Manchester United’s worst ever season in the premier league; some of the results have been disastrous, embarrassing and totally unacceptable. Also the players he brought in for the price he paid was very poor. Mata was a good signing, but £37million is far too much in my opinion, and the signing of Fellaini was another bad piece of business as he has not performed and I believe he isn’t a ‘Man United’ kind of player. Another reason why Moyes was sacked could be that the board could not trust Moyes with £100-200million in the next transfer window looking at his previous signings. He overpaid for Fellaini and paid almost £40million for Mata, and he doesn’t know what to do with him. Moyes never had a system and he never knew his strongest team. Hence why he changed the starting line ups 51 times whilst he was in charge!
The performances have been shocking this season and the players just couldn’t perform for Moyes, like they could for Sir Alex Ferguson. It’s looking like Louis Van Gaal will be the next Manchester United manager (He is the bookies favourite); however I would see how Ryan Giggs gets the team performing in the last 4 games of the season because although he has no managerial experience, he knows the club and players inside out, and he could be an outsider for the hot seat.
